Meet our Assistant Principal, Mr. Martin Carter!

Hello Wayman Academy Family,

I am Martin Carter, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Wayman Academy School of the Arts!

While originally from Orlando Florida, I have been a Jacksonville resident for 25 years. After I graduated from Bethune-Cookman University, my family and I moved to Jacksonville, and I began my career as an educator in Duval County as an elementary school teacher. I believe education is the great equalizer and can provide each child with options and opportunities to be whatever they desire.
As a teacher, I did my best to ensure my students were ready to capitalize on their opportunities.

I have over 10 years of experience as a school administrator in both elementary and
middle school. I believe each school and all its’ circumstances have prepared me for this
position. I am confident that I can help Principal Almon, and the entire Wayman Academy
community thrive and meet the challenges for this school year. Together, we “Expect Success
and Nothing Less!”

It is my absolute pleasure to support the WAA teachers and students. I look forward to
meeting you in the days to come.

Humbly Serving,

Martin Carter
